Dalmeny House overlooks the Firth of Forth and rejoices in one of the most beautiful settings in Great Britain. Yet it is only seven miles from the centre of Edinburgh, fifteen minutes from Edinburgh Airport and less than an hour's drive from Glasgow.
Dalmeny Estate has been the family home of the Earls of Rosebery for over three hundred years.
The House contains Scotland's best collection of eighteenth-century French furniture, porcelain and tapestries. Magnificent paintings abound, including portraits by Gainsborough, Raeburn, Reynolds and Lawrence. There is also one of the world's most important Napoleonic collections, assembled by the fifth Earl of Rosebery- Prime Minister.
Dalmeny combines a feeling of grandeur with a warm and welcoming Scottish ambience. Events can be tailored to suit any occasion.
Receptions & Banquets
Dalmeny House, as home of a Victorian Prime Minister, has long experience in hosting important occasions. Recently we have welcomed Commonwealth Heads of State, US Presidents and Royalty.
The world-renowned Rosebery and Rothschild art collection provides a sumptuous background for meetings, receptions, banquets, lunches and private functions.
Secluded by its thousand-acre park, yet only minutes from Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city, Dalmeny offers the ideal location for prestigious events.
The Hall, Library and Dining Room can together accommodate up to 100 people for receptions. The Dining Room can seat up to 30 at the main table, 50 with additional tables or 80 for a fork buffet.
