Dalmeny Estate

Dalmeny Estate lies to the western edge of Edinburgh, bounded by the banks of River Forth. Here, businesses & communities thrive in a magnificent setting of parkland, woods & farmland.

Dalmeny Estate, and the many businesses based here, benefit from proximity to central Edinburgh and the airport. However, the character and unspoilt, diverse landscapes of the estate are very much rural.

Agriculture

The estate's agricultural land shows a mix of tenanted and in-hand farms. Our in-hand farming is based at Easter Dalmeny where a new grain drying and storage facility has recently been built. We produce an average of 3300 tonnes of cereals and oil seed rape per annum.

Throughout the estate you will see pastoral farming too and Dalmeny Home Farm is the centre of our sheep farming operation. Our in-hand flock of Texel & lleyns can be seen grazing the idyllic parklands around Dalmeny. Roughly 1270 ewes produce 1930 fat lambs per annum.

At West Craigie (one of our tenanted farms) there is a PYO soft fruit business and jam factory. The family-run and very popular West Craigie Farm Shop is owned and managed by farm tenant John Sinclair and his family.

Property to let

Dalmeny Estate benefits from a wide variety of let residential and commercial property. Many of these properties enjoy idyllic rural settings but with the convenience of excellent transport links and Edinburgh close by.

Several farm steadings have been converted into well-appointed office spaces. We let a cluster of commercial property at Bankhead , East Craigie & Easter Dalmeny. Please check our property listings for current availability.

Woodlands

Sustainable woodland management is taken seriously on Dalmeny Estate. A significant acreage of mixed hard and softwood are managed and planted to provide amenity woodland to local communities and commercial timber.
