Rosebery Steading is an immaculately restored, 200-year-old farm-toun and one of the most distinctive barn wedding venues in Scotland, set in the heart of the Midlothian countryside. The ceremony
The Hayloft Barn offers a striking yet intimate space for barn wedding ceremonies, seating up to 100 guests (with an additional 20 evening guests). Religious, civil and humanist ceremonies are all welcome.
For couples seeking something different, ceremonies can also take place outdoors in the central courtyard, framed by the historic steeple, clock tower and doo’cot. Nearby, the meadow overlooking Rosebery Pond provides a natural, romantic setting for outdoor I-dos. A secluded, unconsecrated chapel within the Rosebery House grounds is also available by special arrangement.
Time for drinks
Following the ceremony, guests can gather at the bespoke Pumphouse Bar, a character-filled snug just off the Threshing Barn. Stocked with craft beers and Scottish drinks, including Dalmeny Estate’s award-winning Great British Vermouth, it’s the perfect spot for relaxed celebrations.
On fine days, champagne receptions spill into the courtyard, while evenings can be spent around the firepit under the stars. If the weather turns, cosy alcoves and the Stretch Tent ensure your barn wedding celebration continues effortlessly.
